Starting in 2015, the My True Colors Festival will take place during the month of June in conjunction with National LGBTQ Pride Month and the American Black Film Festival. The My True Colors Festival will be held at various venues throughout Brooklyn, New York. In addition to offering a safe and affirming environment to develop and showcase their innovative artistic works, the My True Colors Festival is devoted to keeping production costs down for independent artists and providing career development through educational workshops. Submissions in all artistic disciplines and lengths will be considered as long as these works highlight or showcase a unique perspective, creativity, and cultural experience, in addition to, reflect ethnic, sexual orientation, or gender diversity. We are truly a ‘Festival That Cares’ about diversity and inclusion. The My True Colors Festival is a fiscally sponsored program created by the My True Colors Project, a social enterprise founded for the sole purpose of developing innovative and influential creative works that address social and human issues.
